Keep an eye on the UV system’s countdown day timer and monitor the water inlet and outlet pressure gauges through a handy clear inspection window.Twin filter cartridges remove unwanted sediment through a 10-micron polyester pleated cartridge, followed by a 5-micron silver impregnated carbon cartridge to remove colour, taste and odour. Silver is used to inhibit the growth of bacteria on the cartridge. Pressure gauges indicate water inlet and outlet pressure. The stainless steel mounting bracket supports a high quality Viqua Ultraviolet Sterilisation system designed to kill 99.9% of bacteria in the water supply.All systems come fully assembled ready to go.

Filtatank systems include stainless steel water pressure gauges that indicate inlet and outlet pressure across the filtration system. This is helpful to indicate when the filtration cartridges require servicing or replacement. Usually the filter cartridges are replaced on an annual basis, depending on the volume of water usage and the quality of the water supply.
Viqua UV systems use a custom connection plug with built-in earth leakage and safety features meaning the lamp cannot be activated when out of the chamber protecting the user’s eyes from harmful UV light.
The UV lamp is replaced on an annual basis to ensure the correct wavelength of light is being delivered. The UV ballast power supply has a handy digital day countdown timer and buzzer to indicate when lamp replacement is required.
When connected to auto-switching pressure pumps that select either mains water or rainwater, the FT-1000UV filtration system will remove sediment and bacteria from both the rainwater and mains water but will also remove chlorine from the mains water supply. The chlorine is absorbed by the silver impregnated carbon block filter cartridge in the second stage of the filter system. Removal of Chlorine has huge health benefits when consuming and bathing in the water and protects your washing from colour bleaching.
The difference between the Filtatank Twin and Triple cartridge rainwater filtration system is the addition of a 5-micron poly spun filter cartridge (in stage two of the triple system). This cartridge is designed to capture finer particles following the 10-micron pleated first stage cartridge. This will protect the silver carbon cartridge which is only designed to absorb colour, taste and odour and doesn’t prefer a lot of dirt particles.
The twin system is ideal for the standard size family home with decent quality rainwater. If the water is quite dirty and brown in colour and there is a high demand on the filter system then we recommend installing the triple cartridge filter system.
The FT-1000UV system comes with a fully lockable weather protection cover. Installation is quick and simple thanks to the supplied mount hole template allowing the unit to be fastened to many different surfaces in just minutes. Each system is supplied fully assembled, all that is required is a plumbing connection to the 25mm inlet and outlet water ports.
