Filtatank Rainwater Filtration Systems protect the health of your family by filtering and sterilising your rainwater before it enters the house. They protect from dirt particles and organic matter which cause discolouration, taste and odour to the water supply and contribute to corrosion and blockages of household appliances such as the dishwasher, washing machine and hot water service.
The First Stage of Rainwater Filtration is achieved through a Twin or Triple Cartridge 20″ x 4.5″ rainwater filter system. Dirt particles, colour, and taste will be captured by filter cartridges. These systems have a large surface area meaning there is no noticeable restriction to flow or pressure of the water supply. On average, filter cartridge changes can be performed on an annual basis with this size of filter cartridge.
The difference between the Filtatank twin and triple cartridge filtration system is the addition of a 5-micron poly-spun filter cartridge in stage two of the triple system. This cartridge is designed to capture finer particles following the 10-micron pleated first stage cartridge. This will protect the silver carbon cartridge which is only designed to absorb colour, taste and odour and doesn’t do well if receiving a lot of dirt particles.
The twin system is ideal for the standard size family home with decent quality rainwater. If the water is quite dirty and brown in colour and there is a high demand on the filter system then we recommend installing the triple cartridge filter system.
After Stage One has removed the dirt and sediment particles, sterilisation of the rainwater supply is achieved through a high quality Ultraviolet Sterilisation system before it enters the house.

These filtration systems are mounted directly to a house or shed wall and are also available in an outdoor version which includes a lockable stainless steel weather protection cover. Available in twin or triple cartridge versions.
FULLY ASSEMBLED FOR QUICK & EASY INSTALLATION
Installation is quick and simple thanks to the supplied mount hole template allowing the unit to be fastened to many different surfaces in just minutes. Each system is supplied fully assembled, all that is required is a plumbing connection to the 25mm inlet and outlet water ports.
Filtatank systems include stainless steel water pressure gauges that indicate inlet and outlet pressure across the filtration system. This is helpful to indicate when the filtration cartridges require servicing or replacement. Usually the filter cartridges are replaced on an annual basis, depending on the volume of water usage and the quality of the water supply.
The UV lamp is replaced on an annual basis to ensure the correct wavelength of light is being delivered. The UV ballast power supply has a handy digital day count down timer and buzzer to indicate when lamp replacement is required.
Filtatank filtration systems are mounted to the wall with three bolts and plumbed down-stream of your pressure pump. The units will operate with gravity fed systems preferably with no less than 10psi of supplied pressure. Installation is quick and simple.
