Triple filter cartridges remove unwanted sediment through a 10-micron polyester pleated cartridge, then a 5-micron poly-spun cartridge to remove finer sediment particles followed by a 5-micron silver impregnated carbon cartridge to remove colour, taste and odour. Silver is used to inhibit the growth of bacteria on the cartridge. Pressure gauges indicate water inlet and outlet pressure.
The stainless steel mounting top cover supports a high quality Viqua Ultraviolet Sterilisation system designed to kill 99.9% of bacteria in the water supply. All systems come fully assembled ready to go.

High quality Filtatank systems include stainless steel water pressure gauges that indicate inlet and outlet pressure across the filtration system. This is helpful to indicate when the filtration cartridges require servicing or replacement. Usually the filter cartridges are replaced on an annual basis, depending on the volume of water usage and the quality of the water supply.
Viqua UV systems use a custom connection plug with built-in earth leakage and safety features meaning the lamp cannot be activated when out of the chamber protecting the user’s eyes from harmful UV light.
The UV lamp is replaced on an annual basis to ensure the correct wavelength of light is being delivered. The UV ballast power supply has a handy digital day count down timer and buzzer to indicate when lamp replacement is required.

The difference between the Filtatank Twin and Triple cartridge rainwater filtration system is the addition of a 5-micron poly spun filter cartridge (in stage two of the triple system). This cartridge is designed to capture finer particles following the 10-micron pleated first stage cartridge. This will protect the silver carbon cartridge which is only designed to absorb colour, taste and odour and doesn’t prefer a lot of dirt particles.
The twin system is ideal for the standard size family home with decent quality rainwater. If the water is quite dirty and brown in colour and there is a high demand on the filter system then we recommend installing the triple cartridge filter system.
Each filtration system is supplied fully assembled, ready to go. Simply mount the unit to a house or shed wall and then connect the plumbing to the 25mm inlet and outlet water ports. There is no noticeable loss of water flow or pressure with this filtration system installed!
We recommend this system not be installed in direct rain or sunlight as damage from rain will void warranty. The model FT-303UV is for outdoor use with a stainless steel weather protection cover.
The Filter Cartridges and Ultraviolet lamp need to be replaced every 12 months to ensure protection against disease-causing microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses. Replacements are available through our online store for delivery Australia wide.
